Two different things

Name correction, or ownership transfer?

Work out which one you need first — the documents and process differ.

  • Name correctionthe same owner just fixing a spelling or detail. Simpler — apply at the local office with the owner's NID, the deed copy where relevant, and the latest bill.
  • Ownership transfera new owner taking the connection into their name (after buying/inheriting). This needs more documents, a fresh deposit and an inspection.

Documents

What an ownership transfer needs

  • Attested photocopies of all ownership documents (deed / inheritance; khatian/mutation where applicable)
  • A copy of the latest paid bill
  • The new owner's NID copy and 2 attested passport-size photos
  • For a business/company account: trade licence and memorandum

After applying there's an on-site inspection; once the prescribed deposit + transfer fee are paid, the name is changed.
